Last week I was offered an amazing opportunity…
In the UK there is a General Election coming up.
As usual, the papers, the television and social media are filled with politicians, telling us to vote for them.
And itโs a great chance in the pre-election frenzy for members of the public to have access to our politicians.
So you can imagine how excited I was when I was asked by the BBC if I would like to ask a politician a question.
As an ordinary, everyday member of the public.
They asked me about my voting history, and about some of my views, and my work. It was a lovely chat.
I know that I was being checked out, to see if I could string words together in a sensible order, and you know me, I do love to talk ๐ so I passed the test.
I immediately accepted, and started to think about what I could say… and then, because I didnโt know who, or when, or how, and Iโm sure they have hundreds, if not thousands of people lined up to do these things, I forgot about it and went about my everyday life.
I was at nursery when I saw an email from BBC Radio 5 Live, asking if I was available on Friday morning.
Yes, I was, and this is is the result…
